Description
Native to areas of North America and Asia, the five-leaf chocolate vine is a perennial. The rich purplish-brown blooms that blanket the vine and their subtle chocolate aroma are what give the chocolate vine its name. Growers may find this flowering vine appealing because to its unique feature of chocolate-scented blossoms, which is uncommon among hardy perennials.
The oval-shaped, glossy, dark green leaves on the vine grow in clusters of five. The three-petaled flowers appear in the spring, from March to May, and are occasionally succeeded by late-summer eggplant-like fruits. Although edible, the fruit that chocolate vines yield is not particularly appetising; if you decide to harvest it.
